International Master of Business Administration

The International MBA aims to equip pre-experience students with a comprehensive business qualification that enhances their understanding of core business functions and their relationship with wider strategic and global contexts. The programme also helps students stay updated with the evolving business environment through the study of strategic management, stakeholder engagement, and corporate social responsibility. The programme is structured to be completed in two academic years for part-time students. By the end of the programme, students will have strengthened their knowledge of business and management concepts, theories, and practical analysis through diverse learning experiences. Students will also develop key skills in research, problem-solving, and project management.

Strategic Global Marketing

Global marketing is essential for economic growth and business success. This module introduces the key stages organisations must follow to develop and implement global marketing strategies. It also explores how logistics, quality, and the global marketing mix support these strategies. Students will learn contemporary international marketing approaches and their practical application. Topics include strategy, research, B2B marketing, social networking, e-marketing, and global consumer behaviour to understand cultural differences and their impact on business.

Financial Decision Making

module: 7AC009 Credits : 30 Type: core

Managers across all sectors must understand the financial consequences of their decisions and interpret accounting information effectively. This module covers the sources, use, and management of finance, and examines accounting and information systems for managerial purposes. The goal is to enable students to make informed decisions based on accurate financial reports and an understanding of the accounting and financial environment.

Contemporary Issues in Human Resources: An International Perspective

Human Resource Management is a dynamic, international field that draws on many disciplines. This module examines people management in a global context, exploring the effects of globalisation on workers, organisations, and employment issues. Students will engage in debates on national culture, employee and managerial behaviour, and the employment cycle of international workers. The module also covers contemporary issues such as human rights, diversity, and corporate social responsibility, preparing students to work in international and domestic settings.

Strategic Operations Management

module: 7BU032 Credits : 30 Type: core

Innovation is crucial for modern organisations in developing new products and services. This module explores managing innovation, entrepreneurship, and new venture creation. It focuses on achieving organisational goals while efficiently using resources. Students will study operations management concepts and the strategic planning process, analysing internal and external environments to choose strategic options and actions. The module encourages creative problem-solving and entrepreneurial thinking using business case studies.

The Masters Research Project

module: 7MG001 Credits : 60 Type: Optional

This module aims to develop advanced research skills necessary for leadership and professional roles. Students are required to produce a dissertation based on independent research, demonstrating understanding of research philosophy and methodologies. The project strengthens students’ ability to design, execute, and report research, preparing them for future research or managerial responsibilities. The skills gained contribute significantly to career development.

Entry Requirement

1. A second class first division- or second class second division and third class undergraduate honours degree from a UK university or Nepalese equivalent Bachelor’s Degree in any stream.

2. A Letter of Reference from a tutor who has supervised the Applicant’s Undergraduate Studies and/or Employer.

3. Students may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) subject to the guidelines set out in the RPL Handbook. RPL includes accreditation of prior certificated learning and /or accreditation of prior experiential learning.

English Proficiency

Applicant must submit an Evidence of English Language Competence i.e. A letter of certification from the previous institute (For e.g. College/University where bachelor’s degree was studied) confirming that the applicant’s undergraduate degree has been delivered and assessed in English medium.

Applicants not meeting the aforementioned criteria for English can demonstrate their English proficiency with any one of the following internationally recognised English Tests:

  • IELTS overall score 6 with minimum 5.5 in each component
  • Pearson PTE (Academic) overall minimum 50
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CCAE & CPE) with minimum scores of 162 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
  • TOEFL iBT overall minimum 60

Applications are also welcome from individuals who do not possess the above qualifications but who have significant management experience and are able to demonstrate previous non-certificated learning equivalent to the above. In such cases, admission to the programme will be based on an evaluation of the applicant’s ability to continue to benefit from and achieve the award.
