International Master of Business Administration

The International MBA aims to equip pre-experience students with a comprehensive business qualification that enhances their understanding of core business functions and their relationship with wider strategic and global contexts. The programme also helps students stay updated with the evolving business environment through the study of strategic management, stakeholder engagement, and corporate social responsibility. The programme is structured to be completed in two academic years for part-time students. By the end of the programme, students will have strengthened their knowledge of business and management concepts, theories, and practical analysis through diverse learning experiences. Students will also develop key skills in research, problem-solving, and project management.

Strategic Financial Management and Accounting

This module equips students with accounting and financial management skills for strategic business decision-making with a focus on sustainability and modern financial technologies. Covers financial and management accounting principles, financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, budgeting, variance analysis, and performance measurement tools like the Balanced Scorecard. Introduces investment appraisal, capital budgeting, risk assessment, and financing strategies to support long-term financial decisions. Emphasises ethical and sustainable financial practices, enabling students to integrate financial insight into strategic business management.

Beyond Borders: Global and Cross-Cultural Employment Challenges

module: 7HR041 Credits : 30 Type: core

This module prepares you for careers in international business and a range of management or human resource occupations by exploring the key challenges, strategies and practices in managing the international human resource. It focuses on the ethical management of people in globalised environments, addressing issues such as 4IR, modern slavery, remote working and cross cultural/global leadership. You will evaluate people's practices within diverse, dynamic and geo-political contexts, equipping you with the knowledge to navigate contemporary challenges in managing people internationally, in addition to considering the employment of international workers in the domestic setting.

Strategic Global Marketing and Brand Management

module: 7MK036 Credits : 30 Type: core

Explores how global marketing drives economic growth and organisational success through effective international strategies. Covers key areas such as global marketing planning, market research, B2B marketing, digital and social media marketing, and the global marketing mix. Examines the role of supply chains, logistics, quality management, and technology in supporting international marketing activities. Focuses on consumer behaviour across cultures to understand how global differences affect buying decisions and brand perception. Develops students’ ability to analyse international markets and design effective, competitive global marketing strategies.

Strategic Operations Management

module: 7BU062 Credits : 30 Type: core

This module focuses on how organisations design, manage, and improve their operations to deliver products and services efficiently and effectively. It explores how operational decisions involving resources, technology, people, quality, and sustainability contribute to overall business strategy and performance. The module covers key concepts such as process design, supply chain management, capacity planning, and quality improvement, supported by real-world case studies and practical applications across industries. It also encourages linking theory with practice, enabling students to evaluate operational performance, identify improvements, and make recommendations that enhance efficiency and customer value.

IMBA Dissertation

module: 7BU060 Credits : 60 Type: core

In today’s business environment, effective leaders, managers, and professionals need to make decisions grounded in solid evidence and reliable knowledge. This module is designed to help you develop the research skills and critical understanding needed for success in your postgraduate studies—and throughout your career. As part of the module, you’ll complete an independent research project at master’s level. You’ll demonstrate your understanding of research philosophy and core principles, whether your approach is empirical (data driven) or nonempirical (theoretical or conceptual). You’ll learn how to: • Design and plan a research project • Execute your research with confidence • Report your findings clearly and professionally. By the end of the module, you’ll be equipped not only to carry out your own research independently, but also to commission, manage, and evaluate research conducted by others. These capabilities will strengthen your effectiveness in any professional or managerial role you pursue next.

Entry Requirement

1. A second class first division- or second class second division and third class undergraduate honours degree from a UK university or Nepalese equivalent Bachelor’s Degree in any stream.

2. A Letter of Reference from a tutor who has supervised the Applicant’s Undergraduate Studies and/or Employer.

3. Students may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) subject to the guidelines set out in the RPL Handbook. RPL includes accreditation of prior certificated learning and /or accreditation of prior experiential learning.

English Proficiency

Applicant must submit an Evidence of English Language Competence i.e. A letter of certification from the previous institute (For e.g. College/University where bachelor’s degree was studied) confirming that the applicant’s undergraduate degree has been delivered and assessed in English medium.

Applicants not meeting the aforementioned criteria for English can demonstrate their English proficiency with any one of the following internationally recognised English Tests:

  • IELTS overall score 6 with minimum 5.5 in each component
  • Pearson PTE (Academic) overall minimum 50
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CCAE & CPE) with minimum scores of 162 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
  • TOEFL iBT overall minimum 60

Applications are also welcome from individuals who do not possess the above qualifications but who have significant management experience and are able to demonstrate previous non-certificated learning equivalent to the above. In such cases, admission to the programme will be based on an evaluation of the applicant’s ability to continue to benefit from and achieve the award.
